My 2010 has 46000 miles and the check engine light came on. does anyone know how to retrieve the code?

I got one of these from Amazon, for around $20-$23.00. Not needed it yet for my truck, but have helped a friend or two with their check engine lights. It will clear codes too. Some parts stores might put their code reader on it for you.

I used camperman's advice and took it to a parts store the code is Po4db. When I bought the truck I purchased a 4yr/48000 mile warranty insurance package. I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow, I'm sure I'm not the only guy that wants to know before hand.
