Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Check engine light & codes

Yesterday I started my truck to fine the check engine light on. I did some running around and after the third key cycle the light went off. My truck won't rev past 2700 and it doesn't reach full boost. The codes are:

1693-DTC detected

0216-pump timing failure

0234-boost limit exceeded

0236-map sensor voltage to high to long

0238-map sensor voltage to high

I'm thinking it's getting to be time for an injection pump. Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Well the check engine came back on today. I didn't drive it enough to see if it would go out. I have a little more running to do tomorrow. I guess I'm on borrowed time. I do not trust this truck any longer. It will be a happy day the day I no longer own it.

Nobody came back to you so I thought I'd send something. I'm sure you have heard this before but here it goes..... recommend cleaning all the electrical connectors and checking the wires. I have had this type of problem before and cleaning fixed the darn thing.



Anyway it's worth a try and if it works it will be cheaper then a ip.

Thanks for the response. What did you use to clean the connectors?

Contact Cleaner and use dielectric grease to coat the parts before reassembling

Thanks for the reply. I found the problem with my truck. My anti defueling device had a broken wire on it. I spliced it back together and the truck is running fine.
