The truck actuates 4x4 mode on its own (2017 2500)

I have a 2014 ram 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins. Last week my truck through codes P003a and P00af. I bought a rebuilt actuator online and put it in. It worked for a couple hundred miles. Today it is throwing P003a, P00af, and U0001. Does anybody have any ideas. When I replaced the actuator, the turbo gear move good between the two lines. Does anybody have any ideas?

Did you do the calibration of the replacement actuator?

And, quite possible to have already toasted the replacement, it should have a warranty on it.

Personally, the new city diesel actuator is the only one I would consider were I replacing mine.

City Diesel's was on back order. I went with one that said it was precalibrated. I was going to calibrate it when I got it but it said not to. I am wondering what the U0001 code means since it wasn't on before I put on the new actuator.

Ive calibrated actuators with Cummins Insite on ISX engines. Supposedly you can install them without calibrating but you have to do it a certain way.

U0001 is a CAN Bus comm error, could have popped due to the other codes, could be a poor connection on a harness plug or could be a ground fault causing it.
Once you get the actuator issue fixed it may not come back.
have you tried clearing the codes to see if they pop back up right away?

I just went out and cleared the codes. I drove it a few miles and they didn't come back on yet. The engine brake worked and I had good boost. When the code was on last night I had low boost pressures. This would seem to indicate that the actuator and turbo is working.

Hmm...
Since the boost pressure was low when the code was active, I'd say you probably have an actuator issue and it will come back.
Sorry...
Keep us posted.
Keep an eye out for when those city diesel actuators are back in stock.
