When I installed my Fluidampr it states to “Install the crankshaft damper and bolts. Tighten bolts to 40 N•m (30 ft. lbs. ) torque, plus an additional 60°”. How many Nm/ft lbs exactly is 60°? I just set mine at 50 ft lbs with blue Permatex thread locker and called it a day. I hope that was enough to cover the 60° requirement.

Hard to tell if that was enough. The only way to know for sure is to take an identical bolt, and to toque it 60 deg while watching the scale on a torque wrench. Obviously, you need a torq wrench with a dial indicator, not the clicker type. Here's an excellent explanation of bolts.

That may be low. I asked the same question when the Fluidampr was a group buy. The consensus is to use the OEM torque spec of 92 ft lbs ('94-'02).



I re-used the OEM bolts also. Others did not. Start reading on page 2.
