If you want a temporary gauge the best place to connect it is the outlet bleed screw on top of the fuel filter. You will need an adaptor from metric bolt size to pipe thread, TST sells these for $25. Normal idle pressure should be 20 - 24 psi.
I have two needle valves on top of the fuel filter housing. I just crack em opened till the gauge slowly goes up.
I bought the Cyberdyne gauges. The whole shootin match was about $85. 00. This is the gauge and two senders.
I dont know how accurate it is. I just got it in a month ago, or so. I havent been driving much latley. Right now I'm getting about 4 psi drop across the filter, which leads me to believe they aint calibrated exactly alike. There's only about 4K miles on a new filter.
What I have to do is replace the filter, and clean the screen. Then I have a base figure and I can go from there.

PS, I can send you a pic or two if you'd like, but I still dont know how to post the pics here.
