Best diesel fuel?

Have You Driven A Ford Lately

Better look again - if your truck was made in Mexico, good chance the engine was too - or perhaps in Brazil - but maybe you ARE lucky - and got one of those neat US-made #53 blocks... ;) :)

Just kidding - but you get the point...

Much of Cummins production has been outside the USA for MANY years...

Cummins has had the same agreement with Komatsu of Japan since 1993. They build the engines for Cummins in Japan and Chile.

how do you spell disaster?

just a sarcastic comment from someone getting bleary eyed looking at all these posts -- would you want a "DONGFENG" engine in your truck? talk about an easy target... .

I remember when I first saw a 63 Datsun Patrol

Better not under-estimate the Chineese - they're where the action will be in this century for big American $$$$$$$$. They'll replace the other Pacific Rim nations by a long way. In 10 years, you'll be seeing Chineese Everything, including cars and trucks - and I mean in main stream USA.

Chineese make CRAP!!!

Hopfully they won't produce these engines before I have to buy another truck ... I WILL NOT BUY A CHINEESE ENGINE.

There metals are inferior and so is their workmenship.

And most of all ... China is our enemy! ... what the hell is Cummins doing!!!!

If they want the Chineese to make the engines, they should just be for the Chineese market, if I see one in a future Dodge ... I'm walking!

For every dollar we Americans spend on Chineese products there will be a bullet comming back into your boy's or grandson's belly in the future... PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all you "Buy in the USA fellas" - as you drive around in yer Mexican-built trucks... :-laf :-laf :-laf

... Here's a list of the countries where the "B" series Cummins engines are made - including the Chinese one this thread covers...

BMC Sanayi ve Ticaret A. S. ** Izmir, Turkey B3. 9/5. 9 C8. 3

Midrange Engine Plant Columbus, Indiana B5. 9 ISB

Rocky Mount, North Carolina B3. 9/5. 9 C8. 3 ISB ISC

Komatsu Cummins Engine Company, Ltd* Oyama, Japan B3. 3 B3. 9/5. 9

Tata Cummins Limited* Jamshedpur, India B3. 9/5. 9

IF you REALLY refuse to drive around in a "foreign" truck, or one powered by a "foreign-built" engine, better get that "for sale" sign dusted off, and installed in yer truck window...

Refuse the Chineese engines

Its the Chinese manufactured engines that I refuse to buy.

Horrible quality built with slave labor ... and as I said before, the $$$ you spend on Chinese crap will come back as a bullet in you loved one's belly.

Those miserable red pinkos ain't gett'en any of my money.

I don't have trouble owning a vehicle with foreign-built components. But I've never seen a casting out of China that I felt was quality work.

Folks, HEY! Let's get a grip. I'm the original "Buy American" guy, but thta's not 100% possible in our global marketplace today. AND, for the record, re-read that press release, those engine will be used over there, in China and similar regions. It makes sense to build them where you sell them if the production numbers are high enough. Why would you pay to ship a 1000 lb engine 5000 miles? Also, for the record again, a Cummins engine is a Cummins engine. I don't care where it was made, I'd take it any day over any, ANY, other engine. (Unless it was made in France. )

I agree with FATCAT. I will not buy any Chinese Metallurgy products if I can help it. After seeing grade 8 bolts which broke like Grade 2, I will not put my life on the line with any more ChiCom Crap.

These people hate America and are only using us to fatten up the so-called People's Liberation Army. This is the same outfit which did the job on Tibet, invaded India in 1962, and has murdered Millions of fellow Chinese for the heinous crime of daring to speak their minds or for being Christians.

I think that is true. But only because the labor is almost as cheap in south America. I don't think we have to worry.
