I have a 2013 2500 Cummins. My steering is choppy on return to center. It doesn't do it consistently. My tires are Michelin XLT 10ply, about 4 months old. I had them rotated this afternoon and it had zero effect. We checked the ball joints and I had relatively no play.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should look?

I had the same issue on my 2017. I took off the steering stabilizer shock and it was dead. I put a new one on and it was gone. If it’s never been changed it is likely blown.

@Hawglip, Welcome to TDR! You'll find plenty of info and help. If you could, fill in the signature line with truck info so that if you have a question about your truck, the info is there for us to see and offer assistance. Enjoy your truck!

I had over the time of 22 years put two new steering stabilizers on my 1999. Rancho brand as I recall. First one the mount broke and I replaced . I don’t think these new trucks really need them for normal driving. If they did the factory would put them on . Waste of time and money in my opinon
