The last 5 days have been very, very good for the truck and a good bit if work for it's owner. I spent a chunk of money and installed all that stuff I have been wishing-for for the last 4 years.

> 4" Stainless Turbo-to-Tip (409) Exhauset from DPP.

> NV-4500 Short-Shift Kit from BD Performance.

> PTO Cover transmission fluid filter and housing.

> Pricol 0-30 PSI Lift Pressure Sender and Gage in Dashboard.

> Total Sound Sheeting (2 Complete Layers) with "Brown Bread"

of firewall to back wall inside cab.

Everything above took about 26 hours spread over four days but the end results have been fantastic.

I have to give special mention to just how well DPP's 4" 409 Stainless exhaust system was engineered and fabricated. The package, a white cardboard "casket", arrived a day early and came with everything needed to get the exhaust up into the truck. Only a saws-all blade for my tool could have been added. The fit, finish and design was flawless. A monkey could get this perfectly in place in about 1 to 2 hours after the original comes out with only a ratchet! And oh yeah, does it sound sweet! I was a little concerned about how it might make the beast sound, but it is just the mellowest, tubo back-ground whistling, deep voiced when you get into-it exhaust I could have hoped for! I Love It! There, I said. . I feel better now.

The Interior sheeting with two full layers of brown bread was quite a job but I think the whole truck feels and sounds more solid / snug as a result. Just wear gloves because the aluminum edges of this stuff will dice and slice you like you can't belive. I didn't have a pair around and now I look like I've been digging broken glass with my bare hands.

Short-Shift kit is also a nice addition as it really does cut down the shift throws.

I read a few posts on NV-4500 lube leading up to the simple install of the PTO filter kit and kind of read myself back into using Castroll Syntorque for the refill. I have used Red-Line MT-90 for the last three years (Changed every 15-20K) and not been un-happy with it and it is alot easier to get. I called the guys out in Texas who do so much New Venture reworking and they really stronglr recommended the original stuff. (Save almost $50. 00 and buy Castroll Syntorque from them rather than dealer's "Viper-Lube"!) Moral of story is this... Shifting from a stop into second gear or reverse with the BD short-shift kit was immediately improved by using the Castroll Syntorque. There may be something to this gearbox being designed to run only Syntorque. The Red-Line MT-90 that came out of it only had 10K on it and it was a clean as if it were new so I am sure it wasn't even close to being worn out. However, the reduced hanging at second and reverse from a dead stop was that fast and that noticable. You make the call...

For those who haven't fallen asleep yet reading this book I thank you. I am sorry about such a long post but I had all this good stuff I wanted to get off my chest with the fellow Dodge Diesel Heads here I just got carried away.

Post with any questions and I will try to get my answer back to you.
