Will Dodge/Chrysler lifetime power train warranty still be honered as it's written?
I almost bought a new Dodge Hemi Charger last year just as the gas prices skyrocketed.
Then when I looked for a gas saver Dodge had a poor choise.
I still stand behind what I said, but I will clairify that when I mention the UAW it is meant as a whole. I'm sure there are many decent people effected by this, that needed to work and feed thier famillies, and is the reason some States have "the right to work" laws. The union bosses are the main culprits, but a majority voted on the contracts that ultimately chocked Chrysler. I have been saying for years that the unions will bankrupt them.I don't expect it to last for very long, being propped up by a Banana republic Gov. and a car company that has the worst vehicles ever known to mankind. And then there's the UAW, giving themselves raises for every truck/car they sell with unlimited benefits for life when they retire, at full pay as well.
I was hoping the Obama team would leave them alone and let the Company just go into chapter 11 unmolested, that way they could reorganize themselves without Obama dictating terms to save the UAW, that caused the problems in the first place. Its not a big surprize that the leftest media never mentions this.
Its not the latest economy woes that caused their failure, but the expensive labor and retirement not allowing them to to build a surplus for just such an emergency. I have a great analogy that can explain it, a Damn holding back water and releasing it only when necessary. Like we have here the South West, Lake Powell holds back the water to Lake Mead that serves a large population with energy and water, when the environmentalists sued the feds to release water that they claimed was killing the Grand Canyon due to the lack of a 100 year flood. They released millions of acre-feet of water to simulate the 100 year flood 10 years ago and now that were in a drought, Lake Mead is 100 feet below normal and the feds are threatening to cutback power and water as a precaution.
Don't expect them to survive, and if they do, its not going to be the same. I'm just glad I have two 3rd gen trucks that will last long enough that Ford will have the Cummins in a light duty truck by then. I know, it is hard for me to say it, but I'm not going to buy a GM with the D/A.
Just be thankful their is a large aftermarket demand for Cummins in the light duty truck version, so we can extend the lives of our trucks farther than the 500K mile expected life spans
Yes, the Bush administration gave them the loan in late Dec early Jan, but if you think Obama was against it your wrong, they were working together at the time to help the industry. With that being said, I was disappointed in the Bush administration in the last days, but to take it beyond just a bridge loan and start to dictate to the auto companies how to run them, that is Socialism. Chrysler would of survived under a chapter 11 reorganization of loans and also get rid of the Union contracts. That is why the Obama administration is tinkering with them, to save the unions. We as a whole have a lot to worry about this trend, there is more to come, just wait and see.well you should remember that it was not Obama that was in office when thet got there money it was George w Bush so lets try to remember that HE did not give them money
he said you need to have a plane before you get any more money not the same old
sh__ that got you here. And now that there in bankruptcy lets see if they can poll it off or not. One thing you have got to do is make a quality car that people will buy and not a
pice of sh__ like chrysler has done with most of its cars. And if most of the people now
feel like you and will not buy a chrysler or gm then we all will be driving fords
NOW THATS A HAPPY TOUGHT.
Didn't the UAW already say they will sell all of their shares to fund their concerns? They said they are not interested in owning an auto company. Kinda makes me wonder why. Well... not really.
