I don't take it personal. I was illustrating a point. When ever somebody steps in it ruins the free market economy. China's government is stepping in as well as Japan, they play with the value of their currency, etc etc. So manufacturing isn't a free market. If farmers can't make enough money to stay in business, then their must be a surplus of grain/product, henc the demand is less than the supply. If few of the exit the business, the supply will drop and will equal the demand. The idea of a free market economy. Point is it is no different subsindizing the auto industry as it is subsidizing the farm industry. What about small businesses who get extra tax incentives, same thing. They are subsidizing the businesses. It is funny to listen to people complain about bailing out things. I preach a free market economy. Tarriffs will help one group and hurt another. Steel was an example the tarriffs helped the steel industry, but hurt manufacturing that used steel heavily since they had to pay more for the steel, then the oversees counterparts. The government could be thinking that farming is a national security issue, as far as being able to supply people food. Well what about manufacturing. We have lost a lot of our electronics to oversees. There was an issue with switzerland or some other country not supporting the US's politics in the middle east. They made a component for some planes. Refused to ship them to the US. Plans sat on the ground. If your gonna subsidize one business you should subsidize them all!!!
