Put them on my 00 when the heated version was first released in 00. They are not power extend but have twice the mirror head of the power visions. Several power vision owners after seeing them wished that they had gotten them instead of the miniscule PV's.

They are also known as Magna Mirrors, Lucerex, M M's. There are a lot of them in use. Lifetime guarentee, They will send parts or You can send it to them. I had a glass loosen and vibrate. Called and they sent a new mirror w/mount assy. They also said I could send it to them and they would do it or return both mirrors for a full refund of my monies.

What customer service. :)

speaking of mirrors: I have my 00 OEM power heated mouse ears for sale, less than 8k miles 100$

Ptu them on my 01 about 5000 miles ago to replace the regular heated/power OE mirrors. I think they are great. Nice big glass that allows you to see things the other mirrors cut out, like the road and the top of the trailer at the same time. And I think they look good on the truck since they are a little bigger than normal.

off to the side a little..... good to see we're getting more TN members.

You wouldn't believe how many CIPA mirrors I see on trucks around here... ... but NO TDR MEMBERS!

I think those are also the same as the Bestop's I put on my 99. I love them. I have pics in my readers ride section under Vic's 99 if it helps any.

Do they vibrate?

hammersley,

I am considering the Power Vision mirrors for a couple of reasons:

1. I have heard that they don't vibrate.

2. They have a reputation for great factory service and support.

Obviously, the CIPA mirrors also have great factory service and support. Do they vibrate?

I would think that a bigger, heavier mirror would be harder to keep still than a smaller, lighter one. How are the CIPA's?

Thanks,

Loren

Do they Vibrate?

Mine don't, and I have a SERIOUS vibration that I am fighting right now thanks to a routine rotate and balance (it wasn't there before the rot/bal). They are heavy but very steady. I really think my original mirrors were worse.

Got Smoke? - I noticed there aren't many TN folk here either. Hopefully we can change that.

How do they extend?

You know how things vibrate - how do you extend them and will they stay where you put them or will they vibrate back from where you want them?

I installed a set last week and have driven about 400 miles since then. I haven't noticed any vibration during this period. So far I like them a lot, can see around the trailer and it only took about an hour to install them.

I've got a set of powervisions on the 97 and the bestops on the 99, so I can do a pretty good side-by-side comparison. The powervisions are smaller, but in many cases they are probably plenty big enough for whatever you want to do. The 97 is my daily driver and the size is perfect for that truck. My 99 spends the whole summer with the slide on in the bed, and for that use the huge area of the bestops is great. I just took the camper off and the bestops are overkill when not hauling anything. As far as looks, I would give the nod to the bestops - they are in proportion to the truck. The powervisions stick out just under 15 inches from the drivers side of the truck, the bestops are 16. 5 (both in retracted position). Even though its only 3 inches total, the bestops have a little more of a pucker factor going through tight drivethroughs.

Both products are well built and solid. let me know if you have any specific questions about the 2.

I called them about vibration. They sent me a tool to remove the mirror with. Very sketchy directions.

I'm afraid to remove the mirror, because the directions suck, and I cant be without mirrors.

cipa mirrors

:) I installed a set of heated power cipa mirrors about 4 months ago 10k miles and no vibraton a big improvement over factory mirrors. I had installed a set of factory manual flip up mirrors for towing and after aprox 2 years the glass fell out of both sides within 1 week of each other and broke when they hit ground. The Cipa mirrors work well on heated part and DON"T vibrate at all.

Where do I start? Do a search on my user name and you'll find several threads regarding the CIPA/Bestop/Lucerix mirrors. Long story short - I'm on my third set due to excessive vibration. I actually sent mine back for a refund from the Automirrorsource.com (original distributor who no longer sells them) and they accidently sent me a 3rd pair plus my refund. For the $30 shipping charge the mirrors were worth it - barely. They vibrated that bad. Note that I said they vibrated - past tense. I sent an email to Magna and promptly got a phone call from a customer service (?) engineer who sent me two new power heads and new glass that has two 'stabilizer fingers' protruding from the bottom and outside edges. The fingers ride on the inside of the housing and virtually eliminated the vibration. Only downside is that mirrors don't adjust quite as smoothly as before. My passenger side mirror vibrated so bad that I couldn't tell the difference between a Toyota Camry and an F-350 in the mirror.

I actually like these things again:)

Help me I'm a little confused - late at night - are you saying that maybe now they have made improvements to an older design and the newer ones don't vibrate?????????

Actually, the original versions had the finger tabs and they were removed due to complaints/issues with not enough adjustment range and now the finger tabs have been reintroduced because of the vibration problems resulting from their removal. It's a catch 22. I know my mirrors don't vibrate AND I can get the same adjustment out of them as before W/O the finger tabs.

Hope that clears it up,

Brian

TT mirrors

I put the lucerx mirrors on my 2k 3 yrs ago. do not vibrate either in or out. great vision area. would do it again in a NewYork heart beat.

I was all hot on these when I first saw this thread but now I am worried about vibration. Maybe I should start a poll but what other brands are out there and where can I find pricing and more information.

lucerx

Bestop

CIPA

Dodge 02 or 03 versions

Any others?

CIPA, Lucerix & Bestop are the same mirror sold under different names. The only other extendable mirror is the Power Vision and it is not as large as the CIPA/Lucerix/Bestop.

Brian

Well that makes it simple...

So I guess the final verdict on this is that the new design does _NOT_ vibrate? I am going to call Genos. .

Thanks, Sorry I am not in the loop.
