Anyone using the Cody Hitch?

So why *couldn't* this genset be used in an RV?

Does anyone have an educated opinion on the relative merits of the CIPA mirror from Geno’s vs. the Power Vision mirrors? I am finally getting serious about buying some, but want to get the best ones.

I know the Power Vision mirrors extend electrically, while the CIPA mirrors require the user to extend them manually. I can live with either system, since I would be extending them only when I hook up to the trailer.

Are the CIPA mirrors much larger?

Does either brand vibrate, especially when extended?

Is installation an issue with either brand?

Is the support and customer service better with one than another? I know that Geno’s customer support is excellent. I have heard that Power Vision’s is also excellent. True?

Any comments are welcome. Thanks.

I've had the CIPAs for a few years now. No vibration, install was easy, and they're huge. I ended up putting a second set on my Dad's truck.

CIPAs customer support was excellent the one time I needed it. My Dad's mirrors shipped with a scuff on the mirror surface. Geno's gave me CIPA's number, and two days later I had a replacement glass for Dad's set and a replacement glass for my set that was swirled when the gf cleaned it with a paper towel, no charge for either.

powervision?

Loren, I am in the same situation as you. I have a set of powervisions sittin on the shelf in my shop. I pulled them off of my 2000 b4 i got rid of it. They have been sitting for at least 5 years now and are in pristine condition. I have thought about putting them on my current truck but I have also been leanig more towards the CIPAS from geno's. They are much bigger than the PV's. I really don't feel like cutting a hole in my drivers door for the switch. I think the last time i used my PV's the drivers side did vibrate a little but i don't think it was that bad.

I have had my Powervision mirrors since truck was new. Had a problem with left mirror & PV replaced the whole mirror free & mirror was out of warranty. The only vibration I get is very little on a very rough road but it doesn't bother me. I use mine a lot as we use our trailer a lot. Haven't been sorry I got them.

I had the Cipa's on my 97 for almost 3 years and really liked them. They were simple to install. No drilling or modifying. I also loved the 10 X 10 mirror surface.

Great product.

I am considering putting them on my 2003.

Leaning towards the CIPA's

Thanks, guys.

It looks like I can’t go wrong with either brand. I am leaning towards the CIPA’s for two reasons: First, they are huge! Second, they are about $100 cheaper than the Power Visions.

Am I wrong in this assessment?

And to me thats the problem with the CIPA'S, they are too huge. Thats a huge blind spot. I checked the CIPA'S out on a friends truck and decided to go with the PV's.

The CIPAs are positioned a little lower than the stockers. They're big, but they don't get in the way of normal cornering line-of-sight (well below it, actually). In my case, I gained visibility in the front corners.

I have the CIPA's myself and the only complaint I have about them is that they don't fold flat against the door like the factory tow mirrors on the late model trucks. The drivers mirror will fold nearly flat but only if it is folded forward with the mirror glass facing out, and the passenger side mirror does not fold much beyond it's normal position no matter which direction you move it. Other than that they are great. Nice large mirror face mounted low to give a good view of the trailer. Would be nice if the passenger mirror extended out a little bit further though.
