Competition At the track last night...

Competition E/10ply 285/70/17 -- Traction?

I ran into problems at the TS race form running a stock water pump with no clipping. . I ended up going with a Meziere electric pump. . I can possibly get a part number if you want it. .

Did you pop a plug out there?

I clipped one fin off of my pump and installed a spacer in place of the thermostat and knocked all of the plugs out and put new ones in with loctite and JB weld on the edges.

TDR member "RedRam1" turned me on to the billet electric water pump.

Meziere.com part number wp-336 single in and single out. I am installing it this weekend had to determine size and order a specail belt.

Well it looks like a freeze plug. I asked around at IRP for one and no one had one, and no one gave me a look like I was smoking crack either soo.....

ON my thermostat, I drilled 3 3/16" holes in the outer portion of the tstat to help with flow. My takes forever to warm up, still gets hot while pulling, but cools right down after the end.

I was only planning on turning 4000 or so. think I'll be alright with just a couple blades clipped and an unmodified t-stat or should I drill a few holes around the perimeter? I'd like to keep a somewhat functional t-stat

IMO, I wouldn't clip the pump on a daily driver, you won't be going to 4K all the time instead consider the EEP fix so that when and if you do your good. set it at around 10psi and it will just recirc.

Looks like this:

I will take some today and post back here tonight probally won't be able to get a good pic of the aluminim piece inserted in the rear freeze plug but will try. Can't remember the price I will look for the reciept you can call doug at EEP as well.

maybe I should have bought this kit too but the main thing I was thinking was... ..... I don't want to pull the transmission again for this deal. I clipped one fin on mine but have yet enough to tell any difference as I seem to be blowing stuff up or tearing stuff up lately.

is this only for 4000k rpm and up trucks?----i run alittle over 3500rpm at the track and have not blown plugs yet, will removing the t-stat for racing eliminate the possibility?

I don't know guys. There have been quite a few 3rd gen guys popping these plugs out also. And we haven't even found 4K yet, let alone been there and held it. The guys blowing them are only seeing 32-3500 RPM.
