Competition At the track last night...

Competition E/10ply 285/70/17 -- Traction?

Hey Lloyd there was a guy in Shippensburg about 3 weeks ago that was from Harpers Ferry, he was runnin a 05' and was sayin that he was turnin 4k across the track and that was the only he would be able to compete in the pulls? It sounded like he was screamin, he had a TST,intake,64 turbo and stacks and every thing else was stock! U think its possible with just those modds?

nope, he is never gonna touch 4K with the factory ECM programming. And TST will not raise either the RPM limit or the speed limiter

that truck your talking about is my brothers and its an 04. 5 and he's only turning 3500 rpms. he said he knew a guy that had an 03 that was turning 4k. but we are getting into 3rd gear and still hitting the limiter. now I have an 05 with a stick and when I had the banks six gun on it it would hit 3800 to 4000rpms. Idon't know what the deal was but it did. by the way my bothers truck just blew the back freeze plug this past week and the dealer is going to fix it under warrenty. so it can happen at 3500 rpms.

Here is the pic, the install is pretty straight forward, much easier if your changing out a clutch at the same time. :-laf The aluminim piece goes in place of the rear freeze plug, which seems to be the most comon place for them blow out at, and has a 90 degree fitting coming out of the center, attach a piece of hose from there to the bottom of the pressure regulator and a piece of hose out of the top of the regulator to the fitting that you put in the top radiator hose. its that easy.

how bout that. all this time we have been waiting for Marco to release his special 4K program for all us third genners. Here it was there all along... ... ... Guess I would just have to see it to believe it.

Oo. shoot, a rail cap and spdiesel box should be good for an extra 1500rpm :--) :-laf :-laf :-laf

As of today I now have an electric water pump installed, therefore I have a stock pump with two fins clipped. If anybody is intrested in it you can have it for the cost of shipping.

Nah...

Just attribute it to the extra air flow from the intercooler, cam, and fuel from the injectors and pump etc... .

There aint much power up there though.

yeh, I have touched it once or twice accidentally... . :-laf But yeh, you are definitely right, there isn't any power up there. It is more or less an over rev before the ECM can defuel. That's why I say there is no way a truck with just a TST is running 4K all the way down the track. The only reason we are doing it is because of the downloader. The tst does not raise the ECM limit on RPM's

Watch out, if you remove the stat or gut it. The hole underneath the stat is a recirculator port, and will send the water right back to the water pump, and not the radiator. We have had a ton of old retired farmers do the same thing on motorhomes, and in 10 miles, cooked the engine. Without correct circulation, you may not even get the water temp gauge up.

It worked on the old John Deere! Not on a Cummins... .
