Why are they only available with leather seats?

1) Because leather feels colder than fabric when it's cold.

2) Fabric might tend to insulate the heater and make it less effective.

3) Because it's a luxury item.

I have heated leather on my 98 Grand Cherokee. It's nice, but won't miss it on the new truck with fabric seats. My feeling is that Chrysler uses such cheap leather that it's not worth getting. We've had three Saturns with leather that were really nicely done.

I have leather in both my Ram and Lexus with heated seats in the Lexus only. Truly don't miss the heated seats in the truck and have only used the heated seats in the car a couple of times.

Now that I've experienced the feel of heated seats, I wouldn't order them in any vehicle being our temperatures are not real cold in my neck of the woods. Sure like the feel of the leather and would spring for that option again.
