I had taken the truck back to the purchasing dealer twice about the clutch pedal dragging and squeaking. They would oil it and the squeaking would go away, but not the dragging. I was told that "all of them on our lot drive that way. " It was bad enough that backing the truck up to align the gooseneck hitch was a chore to keep from running the tailgate into the trailer when the clutch pedal would stick. I was at a competing dealer the other day for an alignment and asked them to oil the clutch pedal because it was squeaking again. Picked the truck up and they had replaced the clutch master and slave cylinder. What a difference! Nice and smooth. Should have stood my ground the first time at the other dealer. Can't believe I lived with it for almost 20k miles.

I have been having the same trouble with my clutch pedal too. The master and slave cylinders have been replaced two times now. Both times the pedal was great for about a thousand miles and then the dragging and squeaking came back. I am thinking about putting in an aftermarket master / slave combination as I will someday need a better clutch anyway. This has been my only real complaint about this truck.

Well, I'm hoping this solves my problem. I can kick myself for letting the dealer who sold me the truck convince me it was a normal feeling. I knew better.

The master/slave system in my 1997 lasted over 250k miles. I believe it was made by AP, which is a well respected brand in racing/aftermarket brakes calipers. I had my doubts when I first purchased the truck, as every part on it looked to be plastic.
