This is driving me crazy. Just told by Vision today that 19.5 require shank 14mm lugs and they gave me the actual part number for my rims. I have a side to side wheel shimmy after balancers and front end alignment so I suspect Vision is correct in the need for shanks. I gave them my actual part number and thats what they told me. This is crazy and should not be that complicated. I will pull a lug off but already ordered the shanks and if they will fit will install and see if shimmy resolved due to out of round fitment with conicals. Why is it this hard to get a correct answer.

I can’t find HD 80 info, just Type 81.

You can see photos above of the SRW Type 81’s and they don’t use shank style.

Sorry yes vision 81a. I think i am going psychotic with vision giving me two different answers. When lugs come Friday will have tome to pull take pics and if it looks like shanks as vision told me for 19.5 rims will hopefully have this resolved

OK, looks like I need the 14mm shank with washers. Crap if this is true now why didnt my tire shop notice when they installed. I hope I didnt damage anything driving but they should be here Friday and going on that night.

I would think wheels that use shank nuts w/washers would need to be hub centric. The pictures of the wheels posted above, appear to have stud holes just big enough for the stud, unless yours are bigger. Shank nuts need big holes.

Just go pull one and look. It's the easiest answer, and will cease the speculation.

I can't find any reference to the 81A using shanked lug nuts, aside from what you have posted. I can find lots of coned lug nut information, including the photos above.

This is what my lug looks like and washer fits outer ridge. I assume the lug will hit the inner ridge. Also sent this to Vision to see what they think.

I sent the same picks to Vision who told me exactly what to order. I had some wheel shake so I stopped driving to reconsider this issue and thats when vision said shank and said the 17 inch and smaller are conical and the 19.5 are shank. Will see what he says when he sees the pics. I wonder whats causing wheel shake if true as truck was aligned just weeks prior to putting these on. New tires, centrimatic balancers, once Vision confirms or not that they ill advised me I guess its off to the balance shop

There isn’t room for a shank, plain and simple. Shank wheels also don’t have the taper for a conical lug nut.

Side to side shake likely isn’t the tires, but something in the front end. The added mass of the 19.5’s could cause a weak component to show itself where the lighter OEM setup hadn’t manifested it yet.

I understand what you are saying but this doesn’t appear to be a 60 degree angle like my stoke rims and the short shank recommended may wedge in there and well as the washer that exactly fits the outer ring.

will see what vision says after seeing same pics.

I looked at stock rims, distinctly different slope. I think vision is right that these are the short .5 something shank lugs they recommended but again, they have the pics and will see what they say. The recommended shanks are not long like the 1.7 you see online. They are short and look like they will hit inside pretty flat, the washer will sit flat.

The part number you listed has a .585” shank, too deep for the wheel you have.

While it’s a photo and not in person, that looks like a standard 60° conical seat.
