I know the code is for fuel valve circuit open but would like to know what you all have found on this and the fix. I have a power max 3, edge box, dd3'.

I received that code with a DDUFM box. Cleared the code and it came back. Disconnected the box completely (back to stock). Truck ran fine and no codes. Diesel Dynamics replaced the box and all is well. Power is back and no codes. Hope yours is this easy.

Next move

I sent the box out about 3 months ago to have the drag-race program put into it. I wonder if the box is bad? It runs fine with the Edge hooked up.

I would definitely suspect the box. I checked everything on the truck before it came down to the pump or the box. I tried the box first before spending the $$$$ for a new pump. In my case the box was the right choice.

P0253 Code

I just cleaned all connectors and connections and removed the Edge EZ with the Power Max hooded up and I still get the code. I removed the Power Max and hooded up the Edge EZ now the code doesn't come back but feels like a surge under heavy throttle. If I remove all power boxes the concern is gone. The truck runs fine if the boxes are not on it and not under heavy throttle. I wonder if the vp44 solenoid is going out or can't take the boxes? I was going to send the Power Max to TST to have it checked out and the Edge EZ too just to make sure. If that doesn/t help then it has to be the vp44 right???????:{

Did you check the plug on the VP44?. The locking mechanism on mine was pulled out allowing some movement at the pump. How does the truck run with all systems back to stock (all other components disconnected) at all speeds including full throttle?. Did you clear all existing codes?. I would definately check all sensors,wiring,filters etc. before laying out the cash for a pump that may not fix the problem. My personal justification was no 216 code and the truck was running (no open to solenoid valve) and the truck ran fine when returned to original configuration.

I did check the plug on the back of the vp44 and the truck does seem to run OK with no boxes hooked up. It only has two codes p1693 and p0253. The code does net return with the boxes unhooked , but who's to say that the vp44 doesn't have a concern still under power from the boxes. It seems the warmer it gets the worse it runs with the boxes hooked up. The truck has a surge to it when this concern happens and then the code sets.
