My check engine light came on during a trip today and I found P0216 and P1693 had been set in the ECU. The engine ran fine with no problems when the light came on. I have an Edge EZ. P0216 states injection pump timing problem. Could the EZ set this? The box has been on the truck for 2,000 miles now with no codes set up to this time.

I have noticed the truck has been a bit harder to start after a brief shutdown when warm. This began occurring shortly after I installed a Holley 14 PSI auxiliary fuel pump.

It's possible the EZ caused it, if you look around there is a thread going about how the APPS could cause the problem and also a chaffed wire in the loom going to the VP. I would take the EZ off and see if the code will come back. 90% of my problems have been either Comp or connection related but I've never gotten the 0216 either but I did have the 0253 code.

Good idea. I put 50,000 miles on the truck with no problems. Now an EZ, Holley pump to feed it and 4" exaust, and I start to have problems. Hmmm. Maybe I should have left it stock!!!!

LIGHT STILL ON

I disconnected the batteries for about thirty minutes and then touched the negative and positive cables on the driver's side battery together before reinstalling the cables. Started the truck and the light is still on with the same codes

I had the 0216 code and the 1693, mine had some starting issues, but the giveaway was the loud crackling from the open exhaust when I would rev it up in idle. I got a vp44 under warranty. I put on my fp guage at 32,000 and my pump was already dead, they replaced the lift pump, but at 38,000 I had the crackling and the code set, but not the check engine light, I read the code from my quickcheck. Hopefully this isnt your problem

I hope not, but after doing a search on the code it looks like it WILL be soon. I now regret Bombing and will soon be selling my EZ cheap. I hope I can pull off my Holley pump and come up with a good BS story as to why the fuel line has been cut. I also have to pull out the hard line waste gate restictor and cover up the drilled hole on the elbow. The pump is still in warranty if I can pull it off.
