Mason Dixon Tdc Logo's Are Ready

Bio-Diesel Workshop in CT, on 11/28/04

Well, guys, got the truck home this afternoon. Parked it so the passenger side was visible and drivers side hidden. Dad goes out to drive it to get a lottery ticket, and I went for the ride. He sees the coffee can tip, and immediately looks under the truck, and sees the duals. Can't get anything over on him. So he fires it up, says he likes the sound, and we take off. He starts getting on it harder when he can, and this unmistakeable grin appears on his face. You all know the one. Guess he will be having fun next time I leave it here. He mentioned going to find a certain PS that took off on him in traffic, where he couldn't get good shot at him. I need that box, now. Thanks again for all the help with this beast.

No, Matt, I keep the package. He is now actively looking for either a leftover 04 or a nice cherry one. And told my mom he is going to put the same exhaust on his. Hasn't even got the truck yet, and already making plans to bomb it. Ain't it great?

There is no coffee night this week... too much to so around the house before Saturday.

If it looks like the weather will be good for Wednesday June 23rd, we could possibly meet in West Haven at Savin Rock. There is a Cruise Night there at Jimmies Restraunt. Thought is might be cool to hang out down by the water and check out some classics and rods...

Coffee Night type Wrenching Question

I am planning on ordering a Fuel Pressure Cage form Geno's. I am getting the Westtach electric because I feel strongly that there should not be any fuel lines in the cab. What I want to hear an opinion on is; Should I get the 16 PSI or the 30 PSI? I am stock Lift Pump now, I am thinking of installing a rear Auxiliary Lift Pump. I am not planning to go a FASS at this time. I may do the DTT belt drive off in the future. So what should it be? I am think 30PSI for now. Thanks, Moose00

30 psi MECHANICAL. I have personally had an eletric guage and it jst became oo untrustworthy. You will want a 30 LB as pressure for a stock truck anl LP will be in the 15 lb range ... half the sending unit's sweep. So you will KNOW that it isn't just hanging arround it's full limit just to make you happy sort of thang. Mine (Alltho needing fittings) Mechanical has an isolator so no fuel could never enter the cab #ad

Moose,

I agree with Tim that you will want the full 30psi. If you improve your lift pump situation in the future, you could easily have fuel pressures into the 20+psi range.

Reliability is an issue with an electrical gauge. You will probably need a snub to the sensor to keep the pipe hammer coming from the lift pump from reaching it, or you could mount your pressure sender pre-filter, or you could try using two senders, both pre and post filter. I did the third option which tells me a little more about what's happening in the end.

A snub is basically a section of hose, many folks use a grease gun flex hose, preferably with a needle valve mounted close to the fuel line. You crack the valve just open so it arrests the pipe hammer, but still provides pressure to the sensor.
