Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Sealer Question

Haven't heard them. Being you have a 2wd, I don't know of anyone with performance springs for you. Plenty of great options for 4wds. I sure they could probably improve from factory but the market is too small for there to be many vendors willing to throughly R and D 2wd springs.

I don't think they're really performance for my application. They asked about weight, addons etc. I think they're replacement OEM, just with an increase in height to level out the ride.

That might do nicely as long as you have shocks that'll work. Put some mini-pack in back and you'll have a nice set up.

Carli's work very well. 5 smaller leafs to get more useable travel. It will swat a lot with weight in back though. They are noticably better than KORE's (3 leafs). I've used both. Lorenz's looks to be good to, but I've haven't used them. Lorenz's dual purpose leafs are really cool. All the mini-packs add about an inch to the rear ride height. This can be adjusted some with the spacer on the axle though. It might cause an exacerated "rear end in the air" look on a 2wd.

Can you use Carli's mini-packs with a 2WD? I've actually emailed and asked but didn't receive a definitive answer.

If I were to use those springs and raise it two inches... would a standard Bilstein/KYB work? Also, with the added height would I need to change anything else to keep it working right?

I saw a 2wd on the road the yesterday and thought of this post. After seeing it, I would be concerned about raising the ride height of the rear. It'll work but I think the rear end would be too high and there would be now way of raising the front to match regardless of what coils where used. Shock length might be an issue as well. The single best thing to do to improve rear ride is get rid of the helper spring. But it will reduce your load carrying capacity unless something else was done to help with load handling like air bags.

The mini packs will replace the helper so net gain in height is about an inch. If you could get a front coil with an equal increase in height, the "attack angle" of the truck would be the same but overall taller. I doubt you could get enough front height to "level" the truck. This doesn't address shock length.

I am only interested in increasing the ride height of the front. Even if I added 2" to the height of the springs, the rear would still be 2" higher than the front.

I think that a 2" front increase wouldn't require different shocks. i am going to install KYB gas adjust shocks in any case.

Thanks for the input.

If you are only interested in the front see what can be done, checking shock length then decide about the rear. Depending on what load carrying ability you need, you can adjust the rear. For instance, if you don't haul or tow, just junk the helper spring, or junk it and add bags, or junk it and add part of a mini-pack. With the leafs in back you can "custom stack" easily. Since you are in uncharted waters in regards to shock length, your gonna have to measure and figure yourself.
