I found out that my Scout's 4BT doesn't like to start when it's below 32F. It was 28 that morning in Sierra Vista (cold for here) and it started but blew the proverbially white cloud. I've heard that theres is a heater grid that Yanmar makes that could work on the 4BT but I don't know of a Yanmar dealer in AZ. So I was thinking, what about using glow plug(s) in the intake manifold? There is a flat spot on the intake that looks like a glow plug would fit, but would one be enough? If I could find some short length glow plugs I could fit them along the intake for more coverage and heat. There's room for at least 3 plug. What do you think? Any other ideas?
