Got Cold Weather Fronts yesterday for my two '05 CTD's. WOW, what a difference in the warm up time. In a mile or so I can have good warm heat and with in 2-3 miles its hot and engine is up to temp and stays there. Before installing I was noticing that when I was at a stop light (in cold weather) the engine temp would actually drop. Also noticed that engine temp would never get much above 185 degrees. Now engine temp stays at about 194 around town - haven't taken any highway trips yet.

NAUIdvr1,

bring that by Keene sometime, I'd love to see it installed.

Stop in the bodyshop if you are ever in the area.

Hey Guys,

Went to my Dealer to order a set of Cold Fronts, and whaddya know, they couldn't find them anywhere in their catalogues or parts computer... ... ... so where is my best bet to pick up a set? It's gettin into the mid to high 20's this time of year, and only going to get colder... ... ... Thanks for any info.

Nick,

I got the cold front with the four flaps that you can close or open (over a screened area) at will, depending on the outside temp.

Scott, will do soon. I was in Jarettsville Friday and didn't think of it - won't let that happen again.

After installing the cold weather front on mine, I noticed my transmission temp ran about 25 degrees higher in stop & go traffic with two flaps open. Outside temps were in the teens.

Im looking for a cold front for dads 05, but I dont want it to be ugly :--)

Thanks

Ian
Ian,they should have the winterfronts for the 05,s at CR motors motors in Hudson that is where I ordered mine. I have had mine for 2 years now, would not be without it. If you would like to look at mine on my 2004 call me 517-688-9114. Frank

If you want a little extra out of it, you can also get the Mopar Diesel Cold Weather Kit, which comes with the winter front, 2 battery blankets, and a cord to tie the battery blankets and the block heater together. I like that set up becuase then the batteries have a better CCA rating whne you start it.
