Larry, How hot was it outside that day? I really believe that a cooler day would produce better results. My truck smokes all the time on a hot day. Even stock trucks smoke on a hot day. Might of had something to do with the results. Just a thought.

As far as the HP numbers they measured around 220 HP or so (uncorrected) on the injectors only (no EZ connected to datalink). The exact opacity numbers were: 28% at 60 mph, 31% at 50 mph, and 29% at 40 mph. This was with a new VP44.

I'm thinking about an adjustable box (TST?), and that will probably drive me to a turbo change. Obviously, more air won't hurt! But, I don't want to cause more problems with additional smoke resulting in an emissions test failure. My thoughts are toward a hybrid turbo that will still spool quickly, but add more air. Gotta love this high altitude balancing act! Any Colorado guys out there have some insight they'd care to share???

Mike, the temp that day was is the low 50's. Certainly not hot! this was on 30 June.

If I lived there again, the Emission Clinic is the LAST place I'd go! My truck failed in 03 and everything was the same as the previous years test, which passed at 4%. In 03 they said it failed and was almost off the scale. So, I went home and made adjustment so It wouldn't smoke, no matter how hard or fast I punched it, at any speed - it would barely accelerate. I took it back to them to retest and they said it was still almost to the high limit. I argued with them about the calibration of their machine and they still charged me again for the retest. They aren't even smart enough to know when their machine is screwed up! Craig.

The last time I took my truck into Exhaust Readers in the springs, I had them do their regular emissions test with all the gadgets turned down.

Then I did a dyno test with the PE Comp on 5x5 and my Bosch 275 Injectors... got 343 RWHP and still would have passed the opacity test... Now that I have changed to EDM Mach 1. 5's, we'll have to see ...

I'll be moving to Littleton the very beginning of 2005. I've read all the post I could find on the emissions testing. You can see the description of my truck below, I currently run the DDTTPM but plan on buying a set of Mach 1. 5 EDMs now that they are on sale. Will these injectors and a box have any trouble passing the emissions test? When it's time for the test, should I change the setting on my box to timing only (Level 1) or, Level 2, fueling at 20psi? Thanks in advance for your help.

I am posting this to ALARM you, These tester guys don't care about your EGTs either. I got to sit in mine last year, I asked, and I watched the guages, HE didn't, he just looked at the monitor. I was just about to say something when he let off, the temp post, turbo was @900*. probably be OK but I don't drive there.

Emissions Test???

We just use the winds of Wyoming to move the stuff eastward. :-laf :-laf :-laf
