Coming to a stop light this morning the truck start to shudder when I stopped and felt like someone had pressed the gas peddle as it started to move forward. I shifted the Auto trans in neutral and the rpms jumped up to around 3000 for a second then dropped down to a normal idle. I put it back into D and it started again, like something was pressing the gas. The light changes and I notice it still running a little rough and slightly less power. I come to another stop light and the same issue. I pull over into a parking lot, turn it off then on again. Put it into drive with the brake pressed, same issue.

It almost seems like the Torque converter isn't unlocking.

I did put in about 12oz of Power Service this morning but not sure why that could cause this.

Any clues?

FYI truck is an 06 RAM 2500 Mega Cab CTD, 151,000 miles, it's bone stock except for exhaust and a rocktech sensor.

Drove it again and it's definitely something to do with the Trans and the TC, ugh now to find out what's wrong and how much... Just dropped over 2k in electrical issues TIPM and T-case motor in this truck and now this.

Doubtful it is the TCC, when the it locks the engine dies.

There are several things that can cause that symptom, but, the most common is the TC has failed internally. A typical problem wit the 06 TC's, well documented.

It definitely does not die but wants to keep going, I have to stand on the breaks. I started to just shift into Neutral before the light then come to a stop. Once you put it in gear it wants to go, no need for even hitting the gas pedal.

Need to find a competent shop in the Western Burbs of Chicago that won't rape me.

Of course, in the cab in front of your brake pedal is the switch. When you press your brake it activates your brake lights as well as unlocks your TC!

Absolutely, the shaft that comes out of switch itself is adjustable just push the new one in till it matches the length of your old one, good luck!!

Well that crushes that hope.

Yeah, sorry no easy fix for some of these problems. The TC unlocks automatically when wheel speed drops below about 35 mph if not before, the TCM will control that. Coming to a stop it is all unlocked unless you issues in the VB, pump, or TC. Most of the time it is the sprag clutch on the stator in the TC refusing to release correctly. The truck probably feels like a dog when you try to start out form a full stop also.

Yes it feels like a dog when starting from full stop.

Time to upgrade the TC to a good billet cover lower stall TC and a shift kit. You will be amazed at the difference. ;)

Haha, actually I think I may sell it. I love this truck but lately it does not love me. Just dumped over 2k into electrical work, new TIPM, T-case actuator motor, and some other misc wiring. Tired of putting money into it and then a month later it's 2-3 k for the TC.
