Just greased the front suspension and steering last month so I checked everything over then. But yeah, that doesn't look pretty.

That is real nice, good and clean, is that original paint it looks like new. and it sits nice too your front springs are good I think part of my issue was the front springs were shot. notice how low mine was in the front.

Mine sat like that when I bought it. Put bigger springs in the front and 2 inch blocks under the leaf springs in the back because i didn't like it sitting so low. But as far as I know its the original paint. Frame and body is rust free and I always park it in the winter to keep the salt off it. Its got a couple dings and scratches, eventually I hope to have a body shop do a total restore on it. Gotta keep them first gens clean because there gonna be collector items one day.

You put it on a 4wd chassis? Thought about doing that with mine but can't justify it because I would rarely need 4wd

It's actually the original chassis I changed out the engine cross member, trans cross member, and bolted on the spring hangers I wanted a 4x4 from day 1 but couldn't find one I could afford and was planning the swap for a while, luck just so happened to have the major parts already when the ball joint failed I was a good reason to do the conversion.

That doesn't seem too hard to do, maybe someday, next upgrade for me is to swap in a 518 or a 46rh instead of the 727.

I always thought our 93 W250 Std Cab with Warn front bumper and wide rims and 10x16.5" tires was neat looking. Banks waste gated turbo helped get it rolling.

Negatives: Brakes and lack of a lock up TC, which made the Banks exhaust brake a waste of money, however they willingly took it!

We traded it in on our 2001.5 in June 2001. Saw it once a few years later in North Seattle. Often wonder what happened to it. Snoking

Had all kinds of comments, some that say they had one just like it (not likely) some that offer low ball make me want to slap them amounts. Some with obviously lots of money with high enough offers that I could buy a 2yr old longhorn crew cab and one guy wanted to buy it to use as a hunting truck

Be careful with answering back with a very high number, a friend of mine had to walk home from a gas station doing that lol

Well, happened again the other day.... guy thats been after mine for over a year and a half called again, wondering if its still for sale.... same price as last time he inquired !!!!;) Then how much for me to move his 5 er from one side of the yard to the other !!!!!!!! :-laf

resurrecting this thread from the dead.

"how much d'you want for that truck right now?" to which I reply "thanks but it's not for sale right now"
"man that thing'll run forever" to which I reply "I sure hope so"

It does turn heads, no doubt. I don't mind the compliments.

Very fond memories of my 'ol '92! If it were a club, I'd likely still have it today! My BIL is trying to get in the game, but he just can't handle the price of admission for the 3/4 gens, and a good 2 gen is hard to come by around here, so I tried to steer him to a 1 gen and do it over (he'd still be ahead of a 3 gen in cost IMHO). He's still got cold feet. Where I live in the city, they HATED my '92. One neighbor used to drag his pails out when I fired it up and came down the block. Yup- loved it!
Pro- The Cummins engineering influence under the hood (prem hardware, G31 battery, etc) You can see the involvement/ changes compared to a gasser.
Just a TOUGH REAL TRUCK especially 4WD.
Con- Crummy original paint, lack of locking TC, no crew from factory.

I'd love to do one over someday

:-laf I get most all of the same comments on the '93 that I've owned for 21 years. Like Shadrach I show them the Geno's sign but most of the time if my boys or Grand-kids (5) are with me they show it them. After all they are the ones that will be fighting over it when I'm dust:D My latest treat was on the freeway the other day I saw a new forth Gen following me on my left for a couple of miles and finally he got close and gave me the thumb's up. Then the same day on my return trip I felt someone was following right next to me (I didn't notice him come up on me) and I finally looked over it was another forth gen and also gave me the thumbs up. I think both of them know what and where their trucks heritage comes from!

I hate going to any of the home improvement stores. Every time I come out someone is wanting to buy it.

Heres a pic. Its been a while sense I have posted one. It has a warn front bumper on it now. I am working on getting the flat bed back into shape.
