Even though I've owned this truck camper for nearly 15 years and I am fully aware of how far the slide out extends, I was in a hurry one day unloading it after returning from a trip and I ran into the side of the slide out and put a gash in my forehead. It didn't require stitches, but I bled for quite a while and it left a spot on my forehead for quite a while. When friends asked what happened, I reply, "I smarted off to my wife one time too many." :-laf

I have collided with the front slide several times, no stitches yet. The corners have a plastic cover but it still hurts, the heighth is just above the brim of my chapeau. bg

I nailed my head like that twice last summer, both times getting under the slide to pull firewood out of the storage area under the slideout.... bleed like crazy both times....a lot more careful now...I'm sure it'll happen again and again....

Only time I've clobbered my head is when wearing a ball cap. I put pipe insulation on the corners and took off the cap when working around/setting up the trailer. Since leaving the hat off I've not hit a corner.

Just the camper reminding you why you should have bought one without the slide.#@$%! I can walk around mine quite safely, no head wounds.:D

Been there, done that several times. Never to that extent, though! I now use pool noodles on them. I would advise you to do the same!

Little bedroom pop-out half windows on the Travel Trailer will leave a NASTY ouch, Was closed when I went to hook up the city water connection, the wife open the window I stood up and turned around and walked head first into the edge.

Hit it so hard the wife asked if we had just had an Earthquake!!!
