Competition HT3B Inducer Size?

All of the big hitters in the sled pulling world a using them too. There has to be a reason. ;) :D[/QUOTE]

J. R. Adkins, Ryan Milby, Terry Coppess, Dave Lange, Jeremy Homeyer, Ray Gullett, Jeff Strothkamp, and even the Mighty Sled Puller I believe are running singles. And those are not names to cough at.

By the way that fourth fella there is pretty close to 600, and I seen him pull a full corn wagon out of a field w/it. I think that is usable power.

I'm not too familiar with the world of sled pulling but I think a couple of those names went back to a single charger to pull in a different class than they were able to with twins.

Yeah, Cooker I know but I just had to throw their names in there. I just don't think you have to run twins to make big numbers. I think that F8lDOSE is running a single too.

I didn't see Craig Severson's name mentioned... he runs a single AND a VP-44.

I'll let you in on a little secret: His real power comes from a little bag of fresh cheese curds that I mail to him in a refrigerated box before every pull...

Matt

 I posted a question that seems to have been dropped somehow but how is 600 HP and 800 on spray really big news? It happens every day. 500HP on almost nuttin.

Nobody mentioned the Haisleys or Mitchells???

Sledpuller runs twins. I'm not a puller so I don't know them all.

Diesel sled pullers were some of the first people to use compound turbocharging successfully.

Hugh MacInnes' book from 1976 ( http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?userid=My713w1BWs&ath=Hugh+MacInnes ) had a small section on coumpound turbocharging that referred diesel tractor pullers.

congrats..BUT

Nice job on the engine conversion. . wish i could have seen it. . however, wasn't 600 hp on #2 like News 4 years ago with a single? ... Joe Donnelly still had the record with 799. 9 on a single and NO drugs. . go back to the drawing boards fellas :-laf

My my... I think the proper response is Great Job.

600+ on diesel only is a great number. 800+ is even better I don't care how you get it. :p

When the race is over, what you run doesn't matter. Who gets the win light does. :-laf

Jeff makes 550+ with a single on his 12v street truck. I was impressed, weren't you Preston? ;) (sorry had to dig)

Every other characteristic is subjective. I personally HATE lag. But my level of acceptance is lower than most. A quick spooling truck to some may not be to me. Again, very subjective.

I have now tested a few HT turbo's. GREAT spool. These had small exhaust housings so the upper end was not as strong, but still great turbos from what I have seen so far. Both nearly hit 500hp, made good boost, and I was making nearly identical boost numbers on the dyno as the owners were seeing on the street. (45-47 psi)

I agree with Mark, sizing twins is a big issue then the subsequent tuning too. I'm not gonna pretend to be the expert, I just know someone that is. Good enough for me.

Great Job Lenny on the 800 club.

Yeah, I was impressed with Jeff's 500+ HP. A stock head, anti-freeze leaking out the head gasket and other problems. A basic stock truck. The only thing I remember Jeff installed, was his injectors, S300 Switzer, his timing and Joe's torque convertor. 551 HP ain't a bad number.

First of all, Congratulations Lenny. I forgot to put that in my first post.

Second, Matt I don't know your buddy w/ the cheese curds, but anyone that pulls w/ a vp is good in my book.

Third, Terry Coppess is a Haisley.

And finally, I am pretty sure that Mr. Sled Puller is running a single now. But I might be wrong.

Thanks for all the feed back. We know not all are ever going to bo impressed with Dynojet numbers so your apprehensions were expected. This weekend were going to the track "Pacific Raceway" I guess since it got a single I probably wont run any faster than 12. 5 or so.

Only reason Im going to the track is cause I'm towing my buddys 69 Nova. I just thought since Im going to be there anyway "why not race". Trucks were built to tow, come the season this trucks gonna be sled pulling.

I hope everyone who attended had a great time. :-laf

Ya Lenny with that Nova in tow you will probably only be able to make a 12. 5 run. :-laf :-laf

I find it kind of interesting that out of all the trucks that showed up There were maybe 5 over 500. About 3 of those were over 600. One of wich had twins and the one that made the most was 127hp over the 2nd place truck and it had a single. On #2 only the twined truck made only about 45hp more as I recall. But I guess it really doesn't matter how much you prove this stuff in real world application all the internet engineers ALWAYS know different. Way to go Lenny! I can't wait to see that thing run on Sat! It's going to be a blast to get raceing again!
