This will be my first Cummins, I've owned several Power Strokes & Duramax's.
A good friend is offering to sell this to me, I have no doubts about the quality of the build/install whatsoever.
My concern is if these mods will make the truck more or less reliable.
heaviest I tow is a 40' flatbed with 20 motorcycles on it, looking for reliable towing with good MPG.

Any advice on this motor build?

Sounds like a good motor, and setup decently for towing. The turbo will light a little slower due to the 71 turbine and 14CM housing, and the cam is more of a higher rpm street cam. That doesn't meat it won't tow well, and should drive quite well.

That should pull like a locomotive once everything gets spooled up. Nice set-up.

Better strap the bikes down nice and tight.......:D

Mike.

I hope it has gauges. If the G56 trans hasn't been built up, it may be next to go out, especially with the added power.

There isn't anything in that list that even a "mild" DD can't handle... The G56.. well that's another story, maybe. Thou I will say that since it was introduced almost 10 years ago I read about far fewer failures than many want people to believe about. It's been a production transmission for about 2x as lost as the NV5600 and seems to have a decent service record.
