One other thing. I believe perhaps the only last glimmer of hope lies with addressing as Andyman and others brought up. But I'll have to do a lot of learnin' before I can try that!

well that sucks don't it... i'll bet in a few years, that code will be hacked so there will be programing box's avalable, and then it could work...

quoting myself, it seems bullydog now has their power downloader avalable... that's programer i think... didn't take that long. .

It's funny I just now run across this thread. I just emailed autoenginuity about getting an advanced version of their interface that works with our trucks. . here's what I wrote and what they had to say... (looks like we might have something fun to play with in march?)

Make: DODGE

Model: RAM

Year: 2005

Description of the Problem: I was curious about your plans to implement the

chrysler specific codes. Specifically, I have a 2005 Dodge RAM with cummins

diesel, and would really like to get a product that I can modify engine

parameters with, however your simple ODBII software falls short. I know

there is a HUGE market specifically for the cummins powered trucks, because

a great number of CTD owners are also tinkerers and fix-it-ourselves types.

and their reply:

We are developing this. It will complete in March. We'll keep you posted!

It's not that you want them to implement Chrysler specific codes, you want them to implement a CAN protocol. It can certainly be done, but I'm afraid the market for such a system is not as large as we'd like to think. I mean, Cummins is no longer offering the RoadRelay for the 3rd gen trucks specifically because there wasn't enough interest in it. Granted, the very high price might have something to do with that...
