Mine did that HUGE before I bumped my timing up. It would pop and bark and was more difficult to start under true COLD conditions (0 or lower). Now with my timing set and rechecked with the timing light method, I have no miss cold or warm, and it starts better cold.

The timing light method, you need an adapter that uses a Pezio electric sensor on the number 1 injection line. With that you can use a normal timing light and your self made mark to establish REAL timing. (the mark you made by using the dropped valve method of finding TDC of #1)
