Now that the season is going from warmer to cooler, I would like to remove my cooling fan to see if winter performance and motor warm up times are better (no doubt the warm up time will change). I know it is a clockwise rotation to remove the nut that holds the fan to the pulley. However I have yet to find a way to hold the pulley in place as I attempt to back off the fan nut. I have tried several different methods, but decided to post this to the crowd and see if any of you out there have found a way that has worked well for you without knocking the knuckles off the ole food grabbers.
