Hearing Aid?

Seen this on the news, Firemen never screw up and cops never get badge heavy, they said it was a misunderstanding shook hands and went to their respective corners.

After now almost 24 years in the Fire/EMS business, I can't recall ever having a time when there was even a disagreement between us and the responding officers, let alone someone being arrested. In my experience, the officers we work with, mostly the Pennsylvania State Police, and local city/borough departments, have been completely helpful to us while we have been working a scene. When the patients have been loaded/transported, we then are more than willing to help with anything they need for their investigation, etc. Heck, some of these guys are close friends at this point and we have been doing things together off duty. It's just shameful for the brotherhood that something like this happens.

The vast majority of contact our fire co has with LEO's is very professional. Every once in a while we run into one with something to prove but not often.

Their respective chiefs met behind closed doors and came out telling thee dis how much they respected each other???

Its the Californy way! Big hot-shot cop - -Had a CHP guy at Banning Scale, told our driver to park his truck and bring his paperwork in - - Load of Gasoline UN1203 - - driver figured the order of a cop was a reasonable one and proceeded to do as ordered the second CHP went out the back door of the scale house, and issued a ticket to the truck driver and the company for not leaving his paperwork in sight in the truck (Federal MV Law)- - got it dismissed in traffic court but took a lot of time and $$ to straighten out. I will not spend any of my tourist $$ in Californey !

In reality it is the law, at all times that truck is supposed to have a copy of the BOL in the drivers door pocket if loaded, if truck is unattended and in a safe haven or within the drivers reach if in the cab, if not loaded it should have what WAS last loaded in the same pocket or within the drivers reach. This is why they have multiple copies of the BOL!! HAZMAT drivers are held to a higher standard from the rest of the driving world.

You must have gotten a Judge that had a good night the night before or they wouldn't have dismissed anything, if it were me I would consider it Lesson learned and leave it at that!!
