Correct Bilstein shock?

Hey All, I'm getting ready to put a 2" leveling kit the front of my truck. I've already decided on the Bilsteins as highly reccomended by the group. What shocks are you guys running,The stock lenght Bilstein replacment? Are they longer than my factory shocks or do they have more travel? I notice the next lenght listed is for a 3" lift and above. Part #'s would be great if avail. Thanks in advance!

B46-1907 is the standard 2wd front shock, don't know if it would be the same for your altered ride hight.

Your sig does not say 4x4, but if it is -



BE5-6681-H5 is the front for a 2-3 inch lift



BE5-6682-H5 is the rear for a 0-1 inch lift.

Thanks for the info Dane,I went to E-shocks site and the way I read that part # you listed is for a Ram with a 3" lift in front? So Im still curious about a 2" lift,Is it better to run stock length with a 2" lift and be over extended a little or would being a little to compressed be better by putting a shock designed for a 3" kit on with only a 2" lift? Does that make any sense?

I have a 2" *Tough Country Leveling Kit* on the front of my truck and use the BE5-2549 front Bilstein's and BE5- 2550 on the rear. I don't refer to this as a 2" "Lift" on my truck... ... it's just a spacer kit to remove the stock front rake,so if I have something different from what you're planning, I'd call Bilstein.

Either set should work for a simple 2" spacer in front because our trucks have minimal suspension travel in stock form. If the front shocks do top out you will hear them. Not something you should try and live with if it happens often due to the beating the shocks and shock towers will be taking, but I think lots of TDR members have the same setup with no problems.



You might consider the part #'s I posted in case you go bigger later. I currently have BE5-2549 front and BE5- 2550 on the rear and am removing and selling them because I'm lifting 2. 5" front and 1. 5" rear with new springs from Skyjacker. If I had bought the longer ones first (Bilstein didn't make them yet)I could have saved some $
