They also ran a 4 year/48,000 mile or 5 year/60k mile warranty (depending on the generation) on vehicles that were modified under the emissions fix. This includes the entire engine and fuel system.

They did something similar on the 3.0L. Have a friend that they extend the warranty on his 2014 Grand Cherokee with the 3.0L TD. Not sure of the exact amount of extension they did though.

OK, I’m ready!

But seriously, this should not be happening! I sincerely hope that they provide a workaround and fast.

This is what "RAMCARES" said yesterday on the RAM HD board:

Hello Everyone! Our team has recently received an update regarding the C4 fuel pump concerns. We have a solution in progress and the fix can be expected by the end of third quarter. Again, we appreciate your patience at this time. As always, feel free to privately message our team with questions. We are here to help!

Might not help the resale value.

Newsa, I really do not carry about resell value of the Jetta. My wife traded her Jetta in on a new 2021 Hyundai Santa FE SEL, in June of this year. She was able to get $3,000 more than what "CARFAX" stated as trade in value to a dealer was. Not bad for a 10 year old car.

Not bad. The dealership where you traded it in wasn't likely concerned about the CP4 failing while parked on the lot. And they likely believe most buyers are not informed as to the history of the CP4 and what fuel pump was used on the diesel vw.

If I were buying a Ram with an ISB or IB, I wouldn't buy one that had a warranty extension only to the original owner, that they think might go bad after the second owner bought it.
