I had #2 line crack over the weekend, stranding me over night. The new line is shiny & different color than the old on! All my clamps & isolators were tight and in place! Truck only has 39,000 miles on it.

My question is... ... ... should I replace all the lines with what appears to be the new style? I don't mine the cost, just don't want to get stranded again!!#@$%! I know that almost all line failures are on lines #4 or #5. Why #2 cracked is beyond me!

I have not broke an injector line. I have started buying them at Bridgeway Cummins By I-271 and Forbes. If and when the first one brakes, they all get replaced. My brother has gone through 3 #4 injector lines from Dodge. This last one I sent him to Bridgeway Cummins to buy the new style, and no problems (so far). Dodge may have the new style by now.

I got a new #4 from my local Cummins dealer and replaced mine just to be safe. He said none of the other ones had been superseded but the #4.

582,000 kms never had any cracked injector lines. Did have the return line from vp-44 to just behind fuel filter broke at banjo fitting. only time truck has ever been towed.

Your second gen is a very different animal! Keep in mind it doesn't run nearly the injection pressures that the CR's do and that pressure makes every little weakness show up.
