I guess when getting the cheaper aluminum alloy wheels, you should beware. I was out polishig my rims today (Eagle 589s) and noticed the front two had one hairline crack a piece in them.

So, my question is, do you know of a good place to get some Mickey Thompson or Weld 16x10 or 16. 5x9. 75 rims? Used ones are acceptable. I will be upgrading tires as well and want them to stick out a little wider than the current 16x8 rims do.

I would call the manufacturer and see what they have to say.

When I was researching where to buy my M/T Wheels I found these 3 places have the best prices in the country.

1) National Tire & Wheel

2) Desert Rat

3) Chrome Wheel

They all have good webpages.

Uh Oh...

Where exactly were the cracks? I have these same wheels and haven't looked at them that closely lately.

I've been looking at the 18" wheels that I first saw on this guy's truck. I really like the look of this combination.

Brian's Universe

American eagle has since come out with a couple of different styles of this size wheel. (18x9). Here's the one I was looking at:

series 102

They have the same wheel without the simulated beadlock on it also.

Forged wheels are too expensive for me right now, but I guess you can't beat the strength. Good luck.

4 wheeling

I guess you don't plan to go 4 wheeling much with those 18". Not a good choice if you go 4 wheeling or in the sand, mud etc. Even in the rocks you will eat those things up.

gee thanks Daniel give me something else to worry about

:D

The cracks are an inch or so below the holes in the rim. Or, about four inches above the lug nuts. Sort of hard to explain. They make a horseshoe shape pointing up.
