Then it must be the pump itself as I have sent you the information above, for the start sequence all the VP44 needs is Positive and Negative. Nothing more is involved, everything else comes afterwards when the minimum idle rpm is reached.

I have checked for power and ground at the pump connector that’s how I determined the original pump was bad . Now I guess we’ll see how well thoroughbred diesel stands behind their pumps .

I would be interested in what Thoroughbred Diesel has to say.

Do you know if the VP44 that you bought was tested on the Bosch test stand. I believe that Thoroughbred Diesel sells a two-year warranty VP44 that is tested for 4 hours on the infamous Bosch 815 test stand. Not sure whether or not their one-year warranty pumps are tested.

I can’t imagine they wouldn’t run it ? I’ve bought a pump from them one other time

Still nothing from thoroughbred or blue chip wrote them both to see if anyone can tell me what might be going on with the pump . I guess I’ll probably end up buying another one and the boss can deal with it through his credit card company . I’ve got one of these pumps a friend tore apart because he saw you can buy a seal kit for 50$ I’ll have to study it and see just how it works or get an idea anyway

Finally got a call about the pump well I didn’t but the boss did I’ll try to call tomorrow it will be interesting to see what they think the cause of the problem is

You should perform Test #3 with the wiring harness disconnected from the PSG so that all possible electrical problems will be eliminated.

Supply power to Pin #7 on the PSG (using a 10 amp fuse) and supply a ground to Pin #6 on the PSG.

I did unhook the connector and had ground and power but I’m wondering if I could be getting intermittent power supply or ground ? Truck tries to fire every few revolutions but then acts like no fuel supply at all for a few revolutions, That’s why I’m wondering if it might be ecm related ? The guy from thoroughbred said the ecm has to mounted to the engine or it will fry it so Monday I’m going to swap them out just to see what happens
