The puke bottle is a small, black, specially made Nalgene bottle with a hose running into the top held in place by a single plastic strap attached up against the radiator on the driver side. The puke bottle is supposed to be emptied at every oil change, but I found that the holes in the bottle allow the fan to blow the puked oil all around that area in between oil changes, so I took a 90* barbed fitting, some black plastic cable ties, and some heater hose and extended the puke hose down the frame past the fuel tank. If you decide to do this the hose must be routed in a way so as to avoid dips in the routing where it won't drain freely. It only took about 15 to route it through properly. No more oil blown all over the fan area.

To answer your question specifically, you simply unscrew the cap with the hose thru it and pull the bottle down thru the plastic strap and reverse the process to replace it. After screwing around with this messy affair a couple of times you're likely to take the cure and run the hose for a few bucks like I did so you never have to deal with it again.

Does any oil leak out now ? like on the driveway? also how far back past the fuel tank did you run this hose? Did you use 5/8 heater hose & fitting?

I only notice spots under it after running it hard for several hours (4. 10 gears pulling at hi-speed). Around town taking it easy I have not noticed any spots, not to say that it never happens. I have never seen those nasty oil spots on the tailgate or bumper after doing this.

Just past the rear of the fuel tank so that I can monitor it by bending over and looking under the truck. This seemed to be the perfect length with respect to the plumbing slope without dips required.

Yes, as I recall. It's been a couple of years. Took the heater hose to Home Depot or bLowe's and matched it up to a barbed plastic ELL. Oh yeah, I used a couple of stainless hose clamps, but they don't need to be very tight.
