Within 10 miles of where I live there are two pick & pull yards. I have retrieved switches from the hulks in both yards. I know they have '94-'95s as well. It shouldn't be hard to find one if you want to avoid the Amazon $90 switches. I think I paid about $5 apiece for the ones I have. I also found the servo pigtail I use as a jumper in a Dodge Caravan. They use the same servo, as apparently all Mopars from that era do.

Thanks all. It's looking like I need to make a run down to Midland today and will be there for the week. Sure wish the cruse was working since it's an 11 hr drive. But I do trust with the help available it'll be back soon.

If anyone happens to remember where the Easy Button is on this little project please share asap :)

I also have a problem with my CC but think mine lies on the vacuum side. The large rubber connector on the top of the vacuum pump is dry-rotted & leaking. Where's the best place to source a replacement?

You can use a piece of hose, that’s what’s on mine, but if you want the elbow you can get a Dorman 47092 at O’Reilly’s for $3-$4 bucks.

SUCCESS!!! WE HAVE CRUISE, AND IT ONLY TOOK 5 YEARS.

Well, yes, yes the cruise does work. Thank you for asking:)

I won't take up everyone's time with an in-depth summery but the culprits were the vacuum servo under the battery AND the cruise control switch on the steering wheel. I found a Youtube vid that does a good job of walking electrical innocents such as myself through a diagnostics of the cruise servo under the battery. In my case one of the three coils was bad. After a bit of effort I found a cheap source for a Mopar replacement servo http://teamcherokee.com/cruise-control-vacuum-servo-assembly-oem-cherokee-comanche-1991-1996/. Delivered price was $44.90. Perfect replacement and quick delivery.

The above did not fix the CC. My suspicion was that with my drawn out repair effort it's likely I'd damaged good parts in the quest to find the problem. Early on (again with a Youtube vid) I disassembled the CC switch on the steering wheel and cleaned it. It looked great, unfortunately if it had been good it no longer was. That was verified today when I got my paper FSM back and used the diagnostics in section 8H to guide me through testing the switch and yep, it was bad.

Visited a neighbors precious metal collection (read junk vehicles) and got a dirty, grungy switch for free. It Works!

All's Good, Thanks to all for the GREAT help.

Well Done. I did not see this solution in replies above so i'll share it. have had 98.5 rattler ~5yrs. developed (?) all-sudden like no cruise, along w/wiper actuation when L turn sig on. found short article--no rembr wher--said to look at ground point behind L front turn sig; found point, along w/loose wire. bad grounds been trouble for me in past--surely others have had "bad grounds" in other stuff as well (if hobby is fixing junk). Go Well, All.
98.5 4x4 long laramie. po did oversize intake/exhaust plumbing and fueling mods (nothing exotic)
