When im cruising at 55-65 mph my egt's are anywhere from 700-900 deg. boost is at 2-4 psi, any way to lower the egt's? i have the full fuel screw turned in but i didnt think that would affect cruise. the starwheel was turned back to stock, the smoke screw backed off a lil, but my fuel cone is turned to the richest setting.

Upgrade the turbocharger. The baby H1C doesn't push much air.

Several choices depending on budget.

You can do an H1C from an intercooled first gen, WH1C from a 94, or an HX35 or any of the above with upgraded compressor wheels and housing.

I'm running my stock baby core, a 16cm ex housing, and the comp wheel and housing from a WH1C. My cruising EGT is in the 600/625 range at 65.

Just be advised that you will have to do some plumbing adaptions as the baby 1C compressor has smaller a inlet and outlet.

hmm, whats good upgrade thats resonable on the wallet? should i just cruise ebay and see what i can find? it seems like anything is better than the hc1.

Check with Gillett Diesel Service for H1C upgrades. They have upgrades a little cheaper then Htt. They just don't list a stage 4 but have all the rest.

we have almost the exact same setup except (BABY H1C & 16cm housing)for my rear end ratio. I see 600egt and 3-4 psi at 75 mph in OD and in 4th I see 8 psi and 675-700 egt. So I'd guess you're running a little high, I really don't know why you're running so high to be sure. I would definitely check some things. KSB working? timing bump? When I bumped the timing egt's went up for some reason, so I put it back to stock. KSB is hooked up.

everything is working fine, the timing is stock. the fuel cone is turned to the richest setting and i guess i could turn back the smoke screw more. im thinking that i have the full fuel screw in too much that it is even affecting the cruise egt's.

I have my smoke screw all the way UP as in disabled not giving the fuel pin any downward setting. . I have my starwheel out but spring is still in. I know htat at 3-4 psi cruise the fuel pin is all the way to the top

top out the smoke screw , back it out all the way. I have shaved the washer and the fuel pin is in the deepest setting. the Full fuel screw is back to stock for me. but egt's were about the same with 1turn in from stock.

hmm, i guess its slow stock settings until i can get a better turbo and maybe intercool it.

Checked your injectors? If they aint up to snuff, they can wreak havoc on smoke and EGTs.

nah, injectors are fine. the truck barely smoked before i tweaked on the pump.

well i turned back the full fuel screw one turn and i still see high egt's. boost effectively went down from about 36 psi to 30 and top end egt's are down. i guess i'll back the smoke screw all the way out. i also noticed when i tapped on the egt guage that it went bonkers, reading higher and lower and such. but its a brand new isspro (~4 months old). any comments?

well, turned out my smoke screw all the way and nothing changed. oh brother, made my truck even slower though. eh, screw this, i think im going to go with my old settings and live with high egt's. i have no clue whats wrong with this thing, im starting to think its my guage or im being paranoid.

700-900 degree egt's at 55mph and 0-2 psi of boost.

Check the grounds on your gauge wiring. Is it the standard or EV series pyrometer? My EV had a problem with jumping around when I had it in my other truck, and I finally traced it to a bad ground. ALso check your lead wire from your t-couple- sometimes they develop issues and you have to get a new one.
