Cruse Control

My cruse controll will turn on but not set. Is there any ideas?

I have a 97. I had to clean the contacts on the switch. Mine won't turn on or off all the time but set always works. (Usually high humididy it gets worse.



I too the switch module off and cleaned it with a pencil eraser and it helped for about a year.

Check that the vacuum hose is not off. It is easy to accidentally disconnect it when changing the fuel filter.

Check under the left battery for a vacuum leak in the vacuum tube. Mind had hole melted in it from the battery heater lead.

Make sure the cable isn't broken or disconnected. Both at the throttle linkage and the control valve itself (under the left battery tray).

I'm betting on the cruise control switch. About $40 from DC.
