I scored some Michelin 9. 00R16's. Doesn't break my heart paying a little more than a grand for those instead of 4 grand or so for Ricksons and tires.

The foot's getting much better. Still ugly, but it works pretty well. The truck is still down for brakes. The rotor/hub assembly on the driver's side didn't want to pull itself together, so I had to get a machine shop to press the studs in. We should get a press for the shop. They're nice to have around. And pretty cheap. I'll probably be back together, bled out and rolling again this weekend.

A TDI buddy of mine at Sikorsky is telling me that VW is not going to sell TDIs in the US nextyear due to ULSD I think that USLD is going to affect the TDIs anyway, just like the rest of us. I have not had time to investagate further. Maybe I should ask a Power Storke guy, a lot of them know everything :-laf



I had a PSD guy here tell me last year that he's buying stock in Owens-Corning because only they make a filter for Diesel Soot, that the EPA is going to make all of us buy! He also KNOWS that Ford Owns Cummings :-laf

I have heard that VW will have no 06. 5 and 07 diesel models. They are coming out with a different motor that will be compliant to all standards and then some. Also supposed to be a little more HP also. All new for 08 which is supposed to be in the American market by April of 07.

Anyone have a 3/4 drive torque wrench? I don't trust the one I have. Something tells me I'd be doing well to be sure the axle nuts are torqued to spec. Also, does anyone have a pump gear puller? Guess I'd better go after that fuel leak.
