Things I've learned here lately...

I've been changing lots of stuff on the red wagon lately. Here's some things I've learned...



1. 913 pumps are pretty awesome.



2. So are SPS 62's



3. Aftermarket exhaust manifold bolt holes don't always line up exactly right.



4. It's a good idea to make sure the exhaust manifold gaskets are still in place before you tighten all the bolts down.



5. Barring the engine from underneath the truck is a big PITA.



6. Crazy-looking delivery valves can give you idle/lope issues.



7. Even if you have the best IC boots they tend to blow off if not installed properly.



8. There's a good reason why the TSB about pump shaft nut torque spec was written.



9. There's a good reason why the pump shaft and gear should be immaculate before the gear is torqued back on the shaft.



10. There's a good reason why you shouldn't re-use your pump shaft locknut too many times.



11. I hate it when I leave the oil dipstick in the wrong place and install the intake horn.



12. DDP4's are sweet injectors.



13. If you drive with a light right foot as a rule and you build an engine for performance, it's a good idea to get your buddies with heavy right feet to take your truck for a ride to see if it'll break on them. :-laf



14. When you get your friends to push your truck to the side of the road, it's not very nice to leave the e-brake on.



15. Removed to protect the guilty



16. It's good to have a buddy at the shop that lives near you that's willing to give you a ride home when you break your truck.



17. Pump shaft nut lockwashers are not 3/4".



18. It's good to have buddies at the shop that'll help you unf^ck your truck when you f^ck it up.

shock bolts are NOT interchangeable with track bar bolts



dial indicators can only travel so much
