This is the piston and rod from the new 6. 7 rumored to be used in the 2007 trucks. Let Ford and Chevy see if they can get any beefier than this.

The size of that rod bearing is just amazing. Makes you wonder just how big the mains are. Not sure what it is out of, but they had a bunch of Cat parts so it could be from one of their engines.

i doubt it... if you look closely at how the cap bolts are splayed into the rod, the rod with the cap removed will fit through the bore... i don't recall seeing an engine bottom end with that cap/rod arrangement though so i can't guess as to what the engine it came out of was
 
What are you guys talking about. i took one of my pistons out of my 05 cummins just the other day and thats how big it was. we all have them that size, i wish. :)
 
I don't think that is out of a 5. 9/6. 7, I was lead to believe they used the cracked cap technology and that rod does not.
