Hi guys.
This spring I will be sled pulling for the first time with my new-to-me 03' QC SB NV 5600 4. 10 anti-spin truck. It will be at a local track i have pulled at before with my last truck, 2000 ford 7. 3 6 speed, 3. 73 chip, exaust, intake, clutch. With that truck i used 4 lo and second gear. I have a few questions about pulling with the dodge, these are my mods: Tst PMCR R-49 with pressure and adjustable programs, 4" mbrp exuast, 392 glacier diesel fuel system with bigline kit regulater shimmed to 26 psi. modified stock air box with amsoil filter. Stock turbo, sticks and clutch. My questions are: what gear selection should i use, i was thinking 4 lo and 3rd or 4th?? Will the stock turbo light fast enough to limit the amount i will have to slip the clutch? should i try and come out of the hole really soft and limit tire spin, or get the wheel speed up quik? The track is medium-packed loam and clay mix and back-bladed by a loader after every run. I will be running cooper ATR 285/70-17 tires as the last three years" winners have all had these tires on thier trucks. The winners were a 02 d-max/allison twice and an 05 dodge qc sb with an edge attitude/juice and a2 moniter. This is a street driven class limited to 30 inch hitch hight and 8000lbs, single turbo, 14,000 pound sled in the first round. I thanks everyone for their help in advance, any opinions are welcome as well as further upgardes i might want to do. thanks again. Steve
