Hello, fellow racing and power enthusiasts. I'm part of the Art/Communications Department here at Banks. I thought I'd post a quick note to all the Cummins freaks out there. (This won't break the posting rules since there's nothing for you to buy. )



No matter what your opinions are about Banks, there's no way you can't dig the special project we're doing with Cummins Engine Company.



I think every post I've ever read here in the forums has to do with getting more out of your trucks. Well, how does getting 600 hp from a 5. 9 sound?



Our website has a pretty extensive review of the project, and I think it's really worth a look.

Yes, anything that Gale Banks manufactures is worth taking a look at. Every system I have seen of yours has been very impressive. My students in my Automotive Shop Class are really hopped about yours Turbochargers! Your Turbos are always a great discussion in class. I will let them take a look at your latest project. Had a thread on this a while back with the link. It's cool that you guys got CUMMINS to do the uprate, wish they would help some of us out who are willing to lose our warrenty. :rolleyes:

(PowerPak = $3. 5k for: camplate/turbine housing/exhaust/air filter/gauges/wastegate actuator/intake manifold... . and a few other 'secrets'... . )



Blatantly tooting one's own horn is not only an obvious attempt to garner attention, it's hilarious!! "Come on guys/gals... . look at me, look at me!!" Good marketing.....

Patrick, sorry for the welcome you have recieved so far, I apologize. This is not the type of message I would like sent out to others about the type of people the TDR membership is made of.



Thanks for the link and the post. Anything to do with new products and just a really cool project is interesting to most of us, and I must say that the project Banks has undertaken this time is really cool. I wish you guys the best of luck, I really hope you break the record. Keep us posted on the progress of this and any interesting news!

I thought Banks thought that high EGT's were a sin so to speak... so just how do you plan to make 600 with anything less than 1300 degrees on the pyro. . and a kit?:confused: ... they're right, that's yesterday's news, but cool no doubt so go for it BANKS... with all the profit you guys turn in why not go for 1,000 horsepower???;)

Why not start a war. Hey Banks..... show us someone who's had their warranty voided by DC because of your mods, and prove to us you stood behind them and made it right. And don't throw the Massey Ferguson Act or Magnuson Moss or whatever its called in our faces... ... ...



Just as bad as Dr. Poof (aka Dr. Performance) IMO.

OK i see now... . they are trying to fit a New 2003 Cummins into a dakota that is gonna make 600 rwhp/1000rwtorque:--) ... ONLY 1000... SHOULDN't it be double the horsepower at least?:confused: ... oh yeah,and streetable,able to tow the race car trailer,and have all the comforts of a regular truck too... . :rolleyes: . . i'd pay money to see a emmisions friendly "ECHO" cummins make 600!!:eek: ..... but u know that Banks must have "bombed" their Dyno machine to get "their" numbers... :-{}

From what i've read on this project so far, the motor is making close to 400hp @ the crank in base? trim. Is this engine gonna run on a diet of pure #2?

What are the projected EGT and boost numbers?



You guys at Banks might want to throw a sound byte of the new ISBe on the page, would love to hear it!

All's that Patrick did was post some info that he thought we all might like to see. It's not like he said we all need to buy "Banks" stuff because they are making a Dakota with 600hp. I think everyone (all most everyone) is mature enough to not give the guy all kinds of I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER just because he posted some cool info on the site. :mad: I think it's it's pretty cool that they even fit a 5. 9 in a Dakota. :p

Look I used the word "Banks" 3 times oops 4 times and I don't have anything "Banks" on my truck (that's 5 times now):D I do think their highrise intake horn is pretty cool looking though. Oo.

Geez Guys take a chill pill. Someone wants to point out something that might be of interest to others and he gets electronically tarred and feathered. It’s an interesting project if you take the time to look. If Banks Dyno numbers are bogus they must have fooled a lot of people for a lot of years. Banks has been around for a long time, they must be doing something right. Holeshot, give me a breakdown on how 3grand sent to Piers will get me 400rwhp. I hear this all the time. Let’s face it, parts is parts and they all cost about the same. Unless you buy them from the dealer, then they cost more.

Patrick - I wish you guys all the good luck in the world. I am currently working with several others to build and campaign a Dakota based drag race truck with a 5. 9 Cummins in it as well, we're hoping we can put a program together. I hope we'll get to go head to head at race tracks next year and have a blast doing it! Speaking personally (NOT as the lead moderator on the site) I apologize for the reception you are getting from some on this venture. Please don't think that they speak for everyone in the TDR.

Not trying to pee on Banks parade, but marketing is what sells them most. As a Communitations major, I have taken some classes in marketing, and see many things that can prove this.





Now, $3,000? (copy and pasted from Piers' site

1) 370 Performance Injectors= $399. 00

2) P7100 Fuel Pump= $2,200. 00

3) ATS 3 Piece Pulse Manifold= $425. 00

4) PDR HX40 Turbo= $975. 00

Remember that this is lumbed together, so



4,000

- 20% (for the package price)
