Aww, c'mon now, don't shortchange Cummins in their V series. Have run plenty of Cummins, have a V-6 irrigation unit on the farm that held its own 24/7 flooding 300 acres of rice while the B5. 9 was being rebuilt. I trust Cummins in their V-6 venture, cause the one I have came out of a mudboat, was severely abused and is still counted on as backup to keep from losing serious money when the I-6s have a hiccup. Also, have a pair of 903s (8T-370s) on a big houseboat that have given more reliable service, unlike the Westerbeke and Onan generators onboard. Don't get me wrong, I love the I-6s, have an 855, 505, and 2 B5. 9s, plus the truck ISB, and have had the Versatile and Steigers running 855s and they have been great and would take them over the V series any day, mainly because of ease of maintenance and rebuild, just less stuff to mess with and get around.
