Ok lets just say i have access to a cummins L10 turbo that is in very good shape with only 2k miles on it... Can i use this on my truck? what would have to be done? how much power could it handle? etc, etc, etc...

The bigger question is... . Did you ask Dad first?

And this from a guy who has in the past called himself a "legend".

What's the deal with you guys? Can't you just answer the man's questions without giving him S*** about his age? We were all his age once so cut the crap. I for one am tired of it. I apologize for offending anyone.

XCumminsX,

Can you post some more details on the turbo please? Maybe a picture if you have one? Thanks.

XcX has stated in the past that his father would not let him do things to his truck, I was just making sure before he wasted everyone's time. :p

X, Why is it OK for you to run around and stomp on everyone elses posts but yours is off limits?

And by the way, I love my Mexican horse and it's SIX bombable choices.

For what its worth... .....

Nick is a great addition to TDR.

Alot of the posts on this website are very boring.

Some of Nick's questions are very entertaining-the feedback even more so!!

It's great to see someone get owned!!

I slam him because it's silly. I mean no harm. He gets upset about being called a kid but he literally acts like one quite a bit... he changes his mind on his truck more than he blinks his eyes. But his age is irrelevant as on many other BB's the 40 year olds act as bad or worse than XCX does... sometimes much worse.

And I would exepct at least a little teasing if I came up with some of the stuff he does... he never quits... and as kbennet stated he has a habit of thinking HIS stuff is tops and what other folks have is crap.

All's fair as far as I'm concerned... it is harmless entertainment and if he... or anyone else can't take it... sounds like there's some growing up to do. If he's brave enough to post some of the stuff he's gotta be brave enough to receive all the responses in kind. No one is being mean or anything... just poking fun... and I do agree... it is entertaining.

X,

The question is, does your engine have enough exhaust energy to drive that turbo? There are a few ways to determine this. You could contact Holset and just ask them. Ask them what flow rate you need, or if you can talk to an engineer ask how much enthalpy the turbine needs to make maximum boost. Or call Cummins and ask their opinion.

Another way would be to check the weight difference of the shaft and turbine/compressor assembly against the HY-35 that's in your truck now. If there's not too much difference, you might get away with it.

What about overall size? Are these turbo's similar enough that a new exhaust flange could be machined without too much work?

I have no idea about the turbo but if it doesn't hurt anything, TRY IT! It might be a good thing... . ;) BTW, Nick, I enjoy your questions and comments:cool: Oo.

Nick I dotn wana blow your cover but I saw one of the same on ebay the other day. Might this be the same one? I saw give it a werl.
