Cummins mud flaps

Noticed that the Cummins store has some mud flaps specific to the Dodge Cummins. They have the Cummins logo and the Dodge logo. Anyone used these, and if so how did they fit?



Searching I found people who have bought rig flaps and cut them down, but no one who has tried these. From what I have read about the paint I want flaps on as soon as I get my truck--

I saw them at the Cummins service center on my last visit. They look like a decent mudflap. I already have the flaps from Dodge on my truck. They don't provide as much protection as I would like. I'm thinking of picking up a piece of stainless steel sheeting and making some extensions to get better coverage. My rocker panels are pretty beat up from driving on gravel roads.

Speaking of rocker panels, anyone rhino line them. I've been thinking about it. 800 bucks though.



As for the mud flaps I've seen them. I'm not big on the blue and red scheme for them. But they otherwise look good.

I have the Cummins/Dodge mud flaps on my 01 and I really like them. I think they are the same size as the Mopar flaps. I originally bought the Mopar flaps which had existing holes but I didn't like the way the holes lined up so I took them back and ordered the ones from the Cummins store. I posted about them before and someone replied that I didn't have the Mopar flaps lined up correctly, which is entirely possible.

My 1993 Toyota T100 has chip resistant paint along the lower edge of the body. It's basically a really thick coating of paint, or that's what it looks like to me. One day I'm going to visit a paint & body shop and see if they can do the same thing to the Dodge. The T100 is holding up great, a whole lot better than the Dodge.

I have the Cummins Dodge flaps. I think they're from Genos (Christmas present). They don't seem to be as long as the old Mopar ones that were originally in place.



I made some brackets that come off of the trailer hitch to hang the BIG flaps when towing the boat.

I saw a truck for sale in Kalispel MT that had the entire truck bed Rhino lined. Inside and out. Looked like he just dipped the back half of the truck in a can of rhino. Was holding up great but looked a little wierd.



I've been looking at trying to find a roll of the stongard film to put over the rocker panels.

I had the big C Cummins mudflaps on my 02. I slid some square stock into the rear tow bar, drill and tapped some holes, and bolted the mud flaps to the square stock. They fit well and look very nice IMHO. I got the mud flaps from Rocky Mountain Cummins in Billings.



I would have put them on my new truck but the flatbed came with mudflaps.

i recently bought the big cummins flaps and cut them down to only the width of the big "C", about 12". they look great to me, but they are within 3-1/2 " from the ground. i had to hang them that low to make the full "C" visible. i have to be carefull backing over curbs and stuff. i think i may have problems someday, but for now they really protect the truck. they mounted right over the rear inner liner which was also added. used the existing 2 screws on the wheel well lip and added 2 more on the inside.



unfortunately i haven't snapped a pic of the flaps yet.

In lieu of mud flaps, we've been thinking of getting the wheel wells and lower panels Line-X'ed. I read they have something like a clearcoat that will make it look like paint. It will be black, but with our 2500 (which we're still waiting on!!!) with the deep molten red it should look good. What do you think?

I've had the Cummins flaps on my 01 since it was new. They have held up very well. A good investment in my opinion.

I had the smaller ones on my trailer, then got thebright idea to cut them and put them on the truck. I did have to make weights, out 1/8 diamondplate steel, they were staying bent. I love the way they look! Not the greatest pic but you get the idea. #ad

since my truck isn't lifted, they are closer to the ground than yours.

Cummins Pilot,

My truck has the rhino lining on the rocker panels from front to back. (actually it is ARMA lining which Rhino bought out)Works great at keeping the rock chips at bay. The only thing is that it takes some work to get them black again after getting dirty. A brush with soap and water and Armor all works great. It is a small price to pay. Black is best. Doesn't fade with the sun.

I had the Cummins/Dodge flaps on my dually. They looked great for the 4 years I owned them.



Mine had a bracket that sandwiched the plastic between two pieces of steel that was bolted through the wheel well and rear fender wells.

I also had the rocker panels undercoated with a product called "Rocker Shutz". It's made by 3M and is designed to be painted over. It has a slight texture, but you can't tell unless you're right up on it. I had it on there for 2. 5 years and my rockers looked great.

I'm thinking of Perma-Tech for my rockers.

If you look at my readers rigs gallery I photoshopped some black onto the rockers to see what it would look like on my flame red truck. Now I hear that Perma-Tech can match any color and make you a sample while you wait so you can get the color just right.

I prefer Perma-Tech because they mix the UV protectant right in and it resists fading better than others IMO.

Spooled, yes the UV protectorant will resist fading but will still fade over time. The more sun you get the faster it will fade. Have seen the red linings turn pink. Awful unless you like pink.

Very expensive to remove due to the labour involved with removing it.

Hadn't heard about the red fading to pink. Don't really want to take the chance of that happening. I'll just stick with the black and apply some 303 every now and then.
